Its a shame that one company that uses "deceptive sales practices" taints the entire locksmith industry. Everyone is worried about becoming a victim of companies like this that they take it out on the good guys, the companies that are trying to earn an honest living but get the third degree about prices and arrival times that it makes the job stressful and unappealing to hard working Americans. This leaves a vacuum for the criminal element to fill. If people want quality service and good customer service, they need to be willing to pay American wages, support your local economy and your fellow man. Stop trying to get everything for bottom dollar. Recognize the value of quality craftsmanship and pay a respectable wage, not an outrageous amount, but respectable. Drawing that line can depend on the job requested, that is where it gets murky.

High Security Locks are great but are rarely needed. In order for High Security Locks to really serve a purpose they need to be installed on metal doors with metal frames or jambs. The reason is simple, there are two primary methods of gaining entry into a property, lock manipulation such as picking or bumping (which High Security Locks protect against) or Brute Force. Brute force is the easiest and most common method, primarily used by criminals and the novice. This method can mean kicking in the door for example, which often time leaves standard locks still operable forcing the lock through the door jamb, splintering through the wood door frame like butter. So if you are going to invest in High Security Locks you best invest in stronger materials around the lock as well otherwise its pointless. One person's opinion of course...

Never really thought that it was a lot of my responsibility to make sure I find a reputable locksmith company, I always thought that just shouldn't happen. Ha, that's kind of silly - But I think many people really think that way! But if it's your money you are spending - you should be fully responsible for what you spend and take responsibility for the consequences, I think people don't take responsibility and they feel its the company's job to not rip them off. Well if you hand someone all your money, of course they will take it! Especially with the economic issue we have at the moment. People out of jobs, people need food but need money first. So duhhh... people are so silly to think they can trust so easily. You must have a reason to trust. So that's why you follow these tips. Give yourself a damn good reason to trust the locksmith company!

Oh wow, I never knew that about rekeying. I am assuming rekeying is a lot more effective than just buying a new lock set?

Yeah, I've always wondered what "rekeying" was. Also, how do you jam your ignition?
